How do I get the smell of dog urine out of my carpet?

My dog has urinated a few times in the guest room. I used bleech water and steamcleaned it. It still smells. What can I use that I don’t have buy at the store. I really want some home remedies. Thanks for all your help.

You can try some Coca-Cola, although if you know your carpet stains easily and you cannot bleach it off afterward, don’t use Coke.
Tomato juice might stain your carpet (try bleaching it off) mildly, but it will get rid of the odor. Crush a tomato and squeeze it hard so juice comes out and then put it all in a blender (skin too) until it forms some ‘tomato smoothie’. Rub this on the odor spots and the odor should be gone within a day or two.

you can try vinegar and water mixed. or simple solution works pretty well you can buy it at petsmart.
if you have NE commet. use it. mix it with the bleach water. all the smell should go away.
I have no idea. I have shampooed my carpet 3 times, sprayed urine stuff, and poured baking soda on it where my chi missed the peepad. I am ready to rip up the carpet and just paint the floorboards. If anyone figures out the way to get rid of the smell please let me know too.
You can buy products (expl: Urine Gone) or try a viegar and water solution.
Use vinegar it will get rid of that nasty smell….you can dilute the vinegar with water if you want…..It works better than anything else…and I have used it on carpet and fabric.
Febreze you can get it at walmart or really anywhere. febreze is the best stuff to use and it also have all kinds of cool sents too, just spray it anywhere you want the smell gone. carpets, clothes couches, your car, curtains, your bed, the air it’s the best stuff i promise! i know this because i work for this company! oh by the way home remdies suck, do you see the suggestions, are you really goin to put that suff on your carpet. your a fool if you do
Well nothing you have to by this thing called dog oder remover and you cant get rid of the smell without it I you use it and it works very well try it oh and it is somewhat chaep like $2.00 good luck!!!
vinager and water
liken 1 cup water and 1/2 cup vinager
try it, it may smell a little funky for a while but just open up some of the windows and let it air out for a bit. it takes the smell right out.
