A store is holding a sale during whcih all items will be sold at 30% less than their marked prices. How much will a rug marked 0 cost during the sale?

= $200.00(0.7)
= $140.00
Answer: $140.00
Checking:
= $200.00 – 0.3($200.00)
= $200.00 – $60.00
= $140.00
70% of $200 is $140

worked out buy:
(30/100)*200=60
200-60=140
1 – 0.3 = 0.7
i.e.70% of the marked price.
0.7 x 200 = $140
The rug will cost $140
$200 x (1 – 30%) (1 = 100%)
= $200 x 70%
= $200 x 70/100
= $200 x 7/10
= $1400/10
= $140
If marked price is $ 100 cost price is $ (100 – 30)= $ 70
If marked price is $ 200 cost price is $ 2 ×(100 – 30)= $ 2 × 70 = $ 140

Discount for that price = (200/100)30 = $60
The new price = 200-60 = $140
0r, if 30% of the price is less, it will cost only for 70% .so you can do it this way too.
Marked price = $200
The new Price = (200/100)70 = $140
$200 – $60 = $140.
