It’s getting to the point where I just can’t take it anymore. I’m close to packing up my things & moving in with my fiance and his family. If I do get enough courage to do this, I’m going to tell my father, "Look, I’m moving out, for now, until everyone figures out how they’re going to pitch-in around the house and mom finds a way to deal with her anger issues."

I’ve previously been on here discussing my issues at home. My biggest issue is everyone’s lack of cleaning up after themselves. I work 50+ hours a week, so I’m rarely ever home. The most I’m ever here is when I sleep at night. Today, Sunday, is my only day off. So I’ve been home all day, cleaning. I have a finished basement in my house so I was cleaning down there all day, literally. We have a bathroom, kitchen, family room, & laundry room in the basement. The basement is where everyone spends most of the time in, so it gets messy often. I cleaned/disinfected the bathroom from top to bottom. I did the same with the kitchen & I was almost done with the family room. I also started organizing the place up a little bit. My mom didn’t even lift a finger today. She just sat on the computer. That’s another issue in my house, disorganization. I can’t take it. People in my house just throw things back where they don’t belong & you can never find anything. It drives me nuts. My mom comes home with my dad & comes down stairs & says, "Jacci, ugh…what are you doing?" Because I was cleaning, I had a broom out, the mop, swiffer mop, cleaning products all out. She was annoyed. Then she started yelling. She said, don’t touch anything in my house anymore! The day before I went to Target to pick up a few things for the house, just because we needed it. I got more hand towels for the bathroom downstairs. I got a small rug for the bathroom, shelf covers for inside the cabinets, a new tooth brush holder for the bathroom upstairs, and 2 oil scents (1 for any room in the house & another for my room). My mom opened the bag & said, "whats this?" Then she screams at me & says, "why do you do this? You don’t act like a normal 21 year old. Your acting like a 40 year old housewife who cleans all day." Like really? Then she started throwing things back and slamming doors. She’s telling me I’m not normal for cleaning, but the way she’s acting isn’t normal. Then my father just stands there and doesn’t say a word. The fact that he allows her to talk to me like that is disgusting. I’ve talked to my father previously and he’s even told me that he’s brought up her anger issue. We constantly have to walk around eggshells around her. She flies off the handle. But, we’ve tried to tell her she has an issue & right away she starts yelling with tears in her eyes & calls us, "asshole," or tells us to, "f*ck off." Its ridiculous. Theres no need for that. She’s always playing Dr.Phil/Dr.Oz with everyone else in the house. She’s always getting on me about my weight and putting me down. She’s always telling my dad, "you shouldn’t be eating this, you shouldn’t be eating that, enough with the soda." Yet, she’s eating angelfood cake for breakfast? Then before we found out about my ADD problem, she was giving me all these "at home" tests to do. If I did the same to her, forget it. It’ll be over.

Normally, most people my age don’t care about cleaning, especially if they are still living at home. But, I do. I’m not like everyone else. I can’t just sit down & watch tv knowing that there are dirty dishes sitting in the sink or furniture that is loaded with an inch of dust. It irks me. Its just frustrating because my fiance has been to my house only a handful of times because my house is messy. Its embarrassing and I can’t clean the whole house by myself. And my parents wont allow anyone over if the house is a mess. People need to start pitching in more.

For instance, I worked 8am-12pm at my first job. Did some errands. Then went to my other job 4:30pm-11:30pm. I come home and there are dirty, greasy dishes in the upstairs kitchen, shoes in the hallway, dirty clothes on the bathroom floor, newspapers on the table, my brother’s dirty cleats are in the hallway along with sand from the field that he tracked in the house, the carpets are dirty & loaded with dog hair, laundry isn’t done…the list goes on & on. And I was talking to my fiance that same night & told him how stressed I was knowing that I had to come home and see the house a mess. It stresses me out too much.

Im considering going back to the family psychologist. But, before I decide to do that…I would like some opinions. How can I get everyone to keep up around the house without feeling like all the workload is left on me? And how can I tell my mom I think she has an anger issue without her raging o

I bought carpet at Lowe’s. They brought it today and the little sample they showed me – the color looked like dirty carpet! Turns out samples and carpet you get are never really exactly the same. Lowe’s was great & said the carpet would be returned & I could pick out another color.

I have dogs, cats & kids, which is the very best canister vacuum? I have hard wood floors and one area rug. Suction is the key and I want a vacuum that will not loose it ever!!!

decorate a living room? I am moving in about a month & I want to start buying things for my new place. I decided on red (towels, pot holders, rug, oven mitt) for the kitchen & I bought pink ( rug for around toilet & small other rug a pink & white polka dot shower curtain & pink & silver shower curtain rings to hold shower curtain & silver shower rod) for the bathroom Friday – I need to see if I can find a matching toilet seat cover & Hopefully a toilet tank cover too. And melon for the extra bedroom (Hopefully I can find a rug that color!) to match the bedding set. I would need to get a queen sized bedding set Complete with comforter Later to match whatever rug I get for my room.

If I buy these linen curtians in chocolate color, will I be staying with my living rooms british colonial theme?

I thouht I would buy a couple of big potted ferns. I also have tons of crystal. What pictures should I buy? I already have some nice black and white prints of Prague I bought while I vacationed there. Do you think those would look nice also, I was thinking of buying a large botanical print to hang above the coach?
I wonder about this because I just bought white leather furniture, and my walls must stay white. What do you think if I bought a tan rug and bought some burnt orange and garnet throw pillows to put on the furniture-will they go well with the curtians? Thank you!!!
Also, should I use crystal candle holders or wood for the living room table top?

I just moved into a townhome and I have a very small powder room on the main floor. White walls, ceiling, white woodwork, white toilet, white pedestal sink, and a large oval mirror framed in silver over the sink. There is no window so I don’t want it to be super dark. The floor is pretty–large squares of porcelain tile in deep green & black–sort of swirled like slate. What can I do to make this room pop? I am willing to paint–can’t change the sink or mirror. Any ideas for a picture or wall hanging? My style is tradtional and the living room/dining room are pale gray with a large floral area rug with a navy background. Any help would be appreciated–everyone has such good ideas.

I have been in a relationship with this man for a total of 4 years with a 6 month break in between. I’m in love, he says he’s in love and couldn’t live without me. And wants to grow old together. That’s nice, the feeling is mutual. We get along great with the occasional argument. He is not confrontational, and likes to sweep everything under the rug & pretend it isn’t there. Me, on the other hand, if there’s a problem, flipping fix it and move on. I can apparently deal with that since I’ve done it 4 so long now. Long story short… I would like to get married no later than 28ish and b done with kids by 30. 28 is too soon for him(3 1/2 yrs). I told him I refuse to still "date" wen I’m 35. (we have our separate places). He already said he wants only me no1 else. So wats the problem? Can a man let me in on his mind set? Is there something I should know? Am I missing something?

Hi. I just bought Woolite Oxy Deep Spot & Stain Carpet Cleaner as a substitute for Oxi Clean Laundry Stain Remover, not noticing that it said "carpet cleaner" on it. Do you think I can still use it on laundry as I would the Oxi Clean? Thanks.
I would be using it for hand washing, not machine.

Keep in mind my apartment is very bear right now. Beige carpeting and cream walls. So for now I’m working with a leather mint green sofa and chair from Create & Barrel (very streamlined in built), deep brown wood coffee table and end tables. That all I have for now, I want to get an area rug curtains. Need some direction with colors. I can send photos of what I have so far.. I’m trying to rebuild after an apartment fire so I’m a bit over whelmed…

I have a contractor that says he can get this platinum plus carpet for cheaper than home depot sells it for. HD says that it is their brand & no one can get it but them. Is it sold by a distributor under a different name?

we are in our 40′s she has 2 children that are openly offended when we hold hands or show any affection towards each other. This is a great woman I have found but I can see a blow out coming if this continues. I have spoken to her & it gets swept under the rug. Would prefer some advice from someone who has been through this or knows how to deal with it. Thanks.

PLEASE help me!! i spilled a stripe of blue paint on my carpet………..ive tried windex, nail polish remover, warm water & dish soap, and a steam cleaner. what can i do?? and dont tell me to go out and buy that oops stuff because i cant drive to go get it and i cant tell my parents! please help! thank you so much!

I will be beginning my teaching career this school year and I got a message from the Principal from the school I will be teaching at telling all of the teachers, "Now is the time to be ordering and shopping for school supplies". Where can I get all of my new supplies (stores and Websites, please) I will be teaching Elem. School, 5th Grade to be more precise. And all that they’re supplying me are the following:
Teacher & Student desks, 1 filing cabinet, 1 semi-long table, 1 reading table, 1 bookshelf, Overhead Projector cart and 1-2 rugs. Thanks to everyone who answers!!!
