Looking for info on rugs safavieh, home dynamix rugs, oriental area rug, gabbeh persian rugs and more?

I have hardwood floors in my apartment, but I also have an area rug that I need to vacuum, so I need one that can do both. I have a stick vacuum right now that’s great on the hardwood, but horrible on the carpet. I tend to shed and the vacuum won’t pick up my long hairs. They just get pushed around the carpet by the brushes. I don’t have too much storage space for it, so smaller is better, and I don’t feel like spending a fortune on some fancy vacuum. Does anybody have a vacuum that works great on hardwood and carpet? (the carpet has a short pile)

I live in an apartment and the bedrooms have hardwood flooring. My bedroom is not too bad but my son’s is cold. Besides adding curtains and an area rug, are there any other ways to help retain heat.

My friend and I just got an apartment. It’s a living room, then a hallway/kitchen, then a bedroom with bathroom. Very small. The problem is it has tile floors and they’re freezing and actually just the whole house is freezing. It is usually warmer outside then in our apartment. We’ve been told the fan heater in the wall costs a lot to use from a neighbor but that hardly did anything anyway. We have an area rug and a runner for the kitchen but it seems like you can feel the cold coming off the tile. Any ideas to make us warm?

Hi i just arrived in Amsterdam in the Amsterdam Slotervaart district on Poeldjikstraat. I have walked a lot of the close areas around my building but as i speak no Dutch I was hoping someone might be able to answer a couple of questions.

I need things like rugs, a blanket, and things for my apartment. Where is a good place to buy these things?
Also where are the best local grocery stores to buy some food and drink?
How does the public transportation cards work?
What do I need to see?
Where are the best bars/pubs/clubs?
Any info would help

I am unsure of what kind of dog we have. My wife and I live in China and we have had this little pup for a month now. She is about 4 months old and she pees EVERYWHERE. it isn’t that big of a problem, because we have tile floors, but we want to buy some rugs soon….

we were told that she won’t get much bigger than she is now. We bought her off the street…they’re aren’t really "pet stores" over here. We also feed her dry puppy food and she seems to be doing fine with it.

also, we live on the 4th floor in an apartment…so is there a way to train her to go in a litter box of some sort? So we don’t have to hike up and down the stairs 15 times a day….

My husband and I are renting a room out in our apartment to someone. There are 3 stains in there and we don’t want to rent a rug doctor thats is a lot from what I have heard and we don’t have money to buy a machine. buy I do have a steam cleaner but you can put chemicals in it I don’t know if that would help. DO you know of anything that would get the stain out. its from our dog we cleaned it up at the moment but you can see little stains from it. PLEASE HELP

My stupid friend’s cat died while she was in Jamaica messing around with black guys. I told her I would go down to her apartment and take of it while she was gone. She has the tackiest apartment ever. Like a cheetah print rug and dumb pictures of like…kittens with bubbles floating around. Oh my God and her Kitchen appliances are not even stainless steal. She has like the avocado color stuff. I mean what a loser. Totally poor. Anyhow, her cat was old. I did go down and feed it once, but it needed a pill and she never told me I would have to use my hand to open its mouth and try and jam it in. That ugly cat had huge fangs and there was no way. I laid the pill out for it on a napkin- used peanut butter on it, but it refused the pill. Kind of like "I’m too good for a pill" . The cat put on lots of airs and graces and I was not about to get bit and get rabbis and worms and stuff. So anyway, the thing croaked and she calls me screaming and crying- and I told her that I did not know it wouldn’t eat it’s pill. She is threatening to sue me now. Can she sue me? She won’t get one red cent. Mr Bojangles

My mother and I moved into this apartment that seemed to not have been inspected at first and we figured ok there’s a possibility this unit been unoccupied for a while. Well 2 mnths later our ceiling falls in from a leak caused by poor plumbing. Our entertainment and flat screen have all been water damaged including our Persian rug… Can I file for a financial compensation suit?

SO, i just moved back home recently- finishing up college- to save money. My parents got a puppy about a yr ago- obviously making him about a yr old now. He jumps on me AS SOON AS I GET OUT OF BED every single morning… WHO wants to wake up like that??? hes a border collie w/lots of energy which i get but he CAN be trained to stay down. My mom is home almost all day and her only excuse is "hes just a baby" um NO hes not, hes over a YEAR old!! HE also craps all over the house if hes not let out every 30mins, which IS NUTS! They have an older dog as well- never had potty issues- and bc she doesnt want to blame the "baby" she says "well we cant be sure which one of them it was" when its CLEARLY the "puppy". In my opinion, the dog is NO puppy and its REALLY getting out of hand. TODAY, i get home NOT even out of my car yet and i see her with this pure white bathroom rug i bought for my apartment a while ago (about ) spraying it off with the hose. I was like uh what happened. shes like what do u think? ONE of the dogs crapped on it… um ONE? NO THE PUPPY! UGH!! Then she throws the thing over our mossy green porch railing. Im like… did u use soap? shes like no. NO???? Im like i spent on that and honestly, either way, its DISGUSTING NOT to disinfect/clean it!! So I had to do it. She was all pissy acting like i was being unreasonable! Then i tell her a while ago the dog ruined a pair of my shoes- which i never said anything about. Shes like well you shouldnt have left them on the floor…. In my OWN room? I feel like its HER responsibility to watch THEIR dog. I dont have a dog yet myself… why? Because i dont want to deal with all these problems! AND everytime they go away, they leave ME with the stupid thing!!! Any advice on how to deal with this???? Im going NUTS
i know this is border collies personalities- but i didnt choose the dog, they did. And i know its not the dogs fault, PEOPLE are responsible for training it- but im starting to REALLY hate the dog because hes SO ridiculous. Jumps all over, on people, furniture, his potty issue, barking. And i feel like the only way around it is if I train him which i DONT want to be doing. Its honestly NOT fair, its not my dog and i didnt take this task on.
it was their idea for me to move back in, i wasnt planning on it AND i said before i do, i want to go over some things (so something like this doesnt happen) and they were telling me exactly what i wanted to hear and not the actual truth. NOW all my crap is here, unpacked and i went through all the trouble of moving here instead of somewhere else NOW im dealing with this? I honestly dont care how badly behaved this dog is UNTIL it effects me. NOW its effecting me and its, in my opinion, ridiculous.
Im not whining, im FED UP! I live like this daily, and i HAVE tried to talk with them about it and they are being really immature about it. They both blow me off totally, wont listen to ANYTHING i have to say… my brother just recently went off to school and before he left he ended up HATING the dog as well. We never had this problem w/any of the other dogs our parents have had but they are being plain LAZY w/this one for some reason. I tried to train it, but its impossible when im the ONLY one sticking to it. I took the dog for a walk the other day and it literally almost dragged me through a yard towards TWO pitbulls! I told my parents- they didnt care UNTIL the dog jumped out the window of my parents jeep WHILE it was moving to run into some random yard to fight a dog. now COME on!
anytime im home i end up screaming at the dog so much my voice is gone. im SO stressed. IDC if i live home or not, they way they let the dog be is so out of hand. when anyone comes over they have to lock him up in a room bc he cant be trusted. who lives like that? I told them this breed is simply not for them, and they should rehome him to someone who can handle the breed. This is a perfect case of people who get the wrong breed of dog. I do keep my door shut but after i leave "somehow" it ends up open… with my garbage everywhere for ME to clean up, or shoes destroyed, etc. When he does something wrong i yell at him and try to put him outside… what happens literally 10sec later? My mom is like awww dont yell at him and lets him BACK in AND PRAISES HIM!!
Alisha- first of all, i dont feel one bit guilty. And im no priss. You have no idea how ridiculous its been- im only on YA now about it because its beyond crazy. And i did state a question, then backed it up with all the info i could think of. To address all the things you suggested, ive already calmly suggested them to both my parents. I dont freak out about these things to them, i talk to them. My dad could care less, he works 24/7. My mom is pretty lazy. That leaves me, and i was pretty excited to hear they were getting a border collie at first. I did my part in training, and played with him outside ALL the time… his frisbee is his favorite because of all the time i spent- no one else. I have told them over and over no "free feeding" him, i never do, but almost everytime they have food they are throwing some to him. Dog doors wont work (we have indoor cats) but even w/o the cats, he cant be trusted w/neighbor dogs hence what i said about our "run" & the pitbulls.
I take him outside and play, but as soon as i come back in after a while, he drives me NUTS to keep playing which is bc no one else will do anything with him. Ive suggested training classes to my mom (im not paying money for them) and she always says she is an amazing trainer and he doesnt need classes. As for the screaming, i never used to but this is SO frustrating that ive given up on training bc no one else cares, and all i can do at the end of the day is just yell at him so he gets off me. I work & go to school the last thing i want when i come home is the dog bouncing off my body over and over. To suggest her to stay away from the dog, i cant do bc shes the only one home all day.

My boyfriend’s apartment is a mess and we don’t have big budget to work with. He doesn’t have a bed frame or a headboard. He has really ugly couches. So what can I do to make his place look better withut spending too much money? I got him a little area rug, and a nice mirror. We are gonna go shopping and I really wanna help him. So what can Ido to make it look prettier what about wallpaper. Pretty muchhow to make it look nicer and homier without spending too much money?

We have a bright red couch that I absolutely love but I’m finding it hard to decorate our living room in a mature way around this piece. My husband and I are 20 years old and I don’t want our apartment to look like a frat house any more lol. I want it to be cozy, organized, and feel like home.

What colors would go well with red? I need ideas for rugs, patterns, or even wall colors. What stores have cheap decorating or organizational items?

I live in an apartment with my husband and two year old. We have hardwood floors throughout. My daughter has a little play room area and she is heavy on her feet and her toys are very loud when they hit the hardwood floors. The baby flooring doesn’t seem to be thick enough and I even put a area rug over it. Anyone have any creative suggestions? I thought of putting down gym mats and to make it soft and stylish put an area rug over that. Anyone think that could work?

The walls are painted a light beige colour and a dark beige/tan for the accent wall. I’m in an apartment re paint the walls.

I’m going to be getting new furniture and was wondering what would be a good colour choice for the couch / love seat.

So my dream begins in my sister’s apartment, it was late at night and we were both asleep. I noticed that my older sister woke up and I asked her what was wrong, she told me she needed you to use the restroom but I notice she was going towards the back door, as if she were trying to escape. I proceeded to tell her I’m not that stupid that’s not the restroom door. As I looked outside the window I noticed my aunt was outside with a big knife and holding a big folded rug with my mom standing behind her. She told me to open up the door at once and I said hell no so she began to try and break the door down with the thick rug, at this point in the dream I was starting to freak out and I asked why they were doing this. As I told her this she responded by pointing to the hard cement floor outside. As I looked I saw a priest over my older brother preforming an exorcism and it looked like he was having a stroke but with more angry facial expressions and I screamed what was wrong with him, the priest proceeded to yell at me "your sins have punished your brother by possession by the devil!!!"

My question is what in the world does this need? Let’s see, I come from a Muslim family but not a practicing Muslim. I have the highest believe that you don’t need religion to be a morally good person, I mean they sometimes go hand-in-hand but you can have one without the other.(My opinion anyway)
