Looking for info on rugs safavieh, home dynamix rugs, oriental area rug, gabbeh persian rugs and more?

The house we bought is entirely laminate wood floor on the ground level, and we have two small boys. We’d like to do some kind of temporary carpeting without paying a lot. Is it possible to use carpet squares? Or is there a better solution? If carpet squares are okay, any suggestions as to brand/how to do it?

We just bought a vintage house with original hardwood floors. Unfortunately the previous owners carpeting the master bedroom. We tore up the carpet to find an old heating vent in the floor, which is no longer functional, and was carpeted over. The carpet glue was applied directly to the metal vent and now there is glue and carpet padding remnants stuck to it. What’s the best way to get all that junk off? I’m thinking paint thinner or something. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

My wife and I recently bought a home with an upstairs "carraige room" that we’ve turned into a rec room. We’d like to put in a refrigerator to store beer and pop, but the room is carpeted. I’d prefer not to rip out the carpet and install tile/linoleum, but I’m wondering if there are any safety hazards involved with a refrigerator on carpeting. Can anybody help me out?

I am buying a new home and was wondering before I go to their home center for picking out what carpet and color cabinets ect. what carpeting comes standard without any upgrade on the carpeting? I realize it won’t be the greatest but we are limited on funds. Would it be pile or plush style carpeting or the next best thing to astro turf.? Thanks in advance!!!

I want to pull up half the carpeting in my room but still be able to leave the other half. I realize that if I just cut it, the end will begin to fray and unravel. How can I prevent this? Is there something I can buy to hold down the end?

In my townhouse because I’m in the process of selling it and want it to look nice. The part to be carpeted would be upstairs which is about 1054sf. I’d like to get a decent carpet but not too expensive. Do you have any idea about a budget? Buying a carpet and hiring someone to do the carpeting. Thanks for your help.

I just bought a house and noticed that the garage walls are leaking. I have a finished basement with drywalling and carpeting. Is there any way I can check to make sure it is not leaking there too? The basement and garage are on the same level. My neighbor told me he remembers the previous owner having leaking problems in both rooms. But nobody lived there 6 months before I moved in so I thought I would have smelled it or noticed water on the rug. Also, another neighbor said 6-7 years ago the back of the house was dug up to the foundation and sealed with gravel and french drains. Should I check the french drain doesn’t leak?

Keep in mind my apartment is very bear right now. Beige carpeting and cream walls. So for now I’m working with a leather mint green sofa and chair from Create & Barrel (very streamlined in built), deep brown wood coffee table and end tables. That all I have for now, I want to get an area rug curtains. Need some direction with colors. I can send photos of what I have so far.. I’m trying to rebuild after an apartment fire so I’m a bit over whelmed…

Help! I moved in with a friend who has a dog that only comes inside at night. He’s clean and doesn’t make messes, but the house stinks! I’ve cleaned the rug and furniture, used baking soda, bought deodorizers, and put up Wallflowers to cover the smell, not to mention using TONS of Febreeze and Oust. Anybody have ideas to get rid of the smell? Short of getting new carpeting, I don’t know what else I can do!

We just moved into our (new to us) home. Upon ripping up the old gross carpeting upstairs, the "beautiful" hardwoods that were supposed to be underneath were anything but. There is paint splattered all over them in many different spots and they have never been refinished. You can tell they would be nice, if they were sanded and stained. We have spent so much money on the new house, I want to go the cheapest route! Refinishing or carpet? Any ideas?

MDF i know I can get at home depot and lowes, and I know you can use a PVC pipe to make the length of the port of a sub.

What I don’t know is, where can I get the carpeting they use for subwoofers? At the home improvement stores all they sell is carpeting for homes and rugs, and that stuff is way too thick for the enclosures.

Also, where can I find the insert you put on the face of the port, to make the transition from the sub box to the port pipe? Hopefully someone knows what I’m talking about cause I dont really know how to describe it or what its called :X
