Cynthia Besch wants to buy a rug for a room that is 18 ft. wide and 21 ft. long. She wants to leave a uniform strip of floor around the rug. She can afford to buy 30 square feet of carpeting. What dimensions should the rug have?

Help! Even though I used drop clothes I got a bit of white primer onto our beige carpeting. Any tricks on getting it out? Or will I just have to cover it with an area rug?

I had taken a plant outside to the garbage and left the pot in the kitchen, well when I came in from the garbage my son had thrown the pot down the stairs and mud is now all over the carpeting. What is the easiest way to get mud out of the carpet? I have a grayish type rug and it is to late to go pick anything (stores all closed) up for my steam cleaner. I am freaking out because I know a professional steam cleaner would cost bucks.

I also have a rug by the front door for shoes. But when people come by, I can tell it’s troublesome asking them to take off their shoes, and I don’t want them to leave their shoes outside the front door as some of my neighbors have done. Looks tacky. What can I buy to avoid this? There has to be an alternative. I can’t put plastic runners all over the carpeting throughout the house. I also have the cable guy, and other maintenance people coming by this week, and I can just imagine what it will look like if they all leave on shoes.

I want to redo my room. I need bedding (sheets, comforters, you know) carpeting (not wall tot wall or anything), and I’ll get some paint. probably some painters to do it too (me, painting my walls…not a good idea. I mean, I’m as self operating as the next girl, but it just isn’t smart). If the size of the carpet accounts for the cost then here it is

So, overall, I need a good place to buy this stuff cheap and how much IS cheap?

OK I got free samples of carpeting because im getting carpet put in my room.I have all the free samples and I’m getting more in the mail.So my rooms gonna be very colorful and bright.So could I take the carpet samples and glue or sew them together.Do you have any ideas on how I could hook them together.Do you think it would look good.Oh yeah I getting bright blue carpet with peach and mint walls.

My cat scratches along the top edge of the stairs, and tears them to shreds. I am unable to trim her claws – she was a rescue and doesn’t like to be handled, and I will not declaw her. I don’t like the look of hardwood, and really want to find carpeting material that can withstand her clawing.

We just steamed cleaned our carpeting (with a rented steam cleaner) and while we are waiting for it to dry – it really has a bad odor all throught the house!!!! We have been doing this yearly for the past 15 years and have never had this problem….Any suggestions or thoughts about what happened? Or advise on a product I can buy that will neutralize the odor in the carpet?

We’re trying to change the upstairs rule for our HOA. Does anyone have access to CC&Rs that have a rule for carpeting upstairs? Or a rule for a percantage of upstairs units to have area rugs? It would be nice to have the pdf file or at least the specific wording so we can find some good examples and maybe avoid paying a lawyer to draft it. Thank you.
I am part of the association. We’re trying to draft a rule about having a percentage of the upstairs floors covered with rugs or padded runners. We’re looking for an example…there’s nobody in the association to ask. That’s why I asked the question.

I have a puppy who is 11 mths old and I’m having problems with him relieving himself on our new area rug. I have already riped out our carpeting in our living room. Is there something I can spray or use to keep him from continuing this?

I have hardwood floors, area rugs and mediaum pile carpeting. I have no pets, but two young kids (just as dirty as pets). What brand and model vacuum do you think I should get to meet all my needs. I like Dyson, but don’t know if the price justifies the results. I have heard good things about Miele. I had an Orek and did not like the scent of burning rubber that it always had. What do you like and why?
