LOooong but a wonderful story……..?
Looking for info on rugs safavieh, home dynamix rugs, oriental area rug, gabbeh persian rugs and more?
"Assalam alaikum, how’s things Dad?" asked Ahmed. "What’s news?" he asked again as they sat down at the table together.
Ranya brought the plates through & handed one to each person. They were brightly colored porcelain plates that she’d received as a wedding present. Grandpa reached out his shaky old hands & grasped the plate as best he could, but it slipped from his grip & fell into pieces on the floor.
"Of all the…" began Ranya.
Grandpa frowned & looked at the mess on the floor. Mashed potatoes, peas & gravy & a nice piece of chicken were splashed over the nice woolen rug that decorated the dining room floor.
"I’m ever so sorry," said Grandpa nervously, as he tried to get up.
"No Dad, don’t worry. Accidents happen. I’ll get a cloth." Ahmed got up smiling & continued to talk about his day at work, trying to break the tension that he could see forming around his wife’s figure. He met Ranya in the kitchen.
"Your father is forever messing up this house Ahmed. I can’t stand it."
"You’re exaggerating Ranya, things like this don’t happen everyday. I’ll clean it up."
"What about my plate? Now the set’s incomplete."
"I’ll get you another one, don’t worry," reassured Ahmed.
"Well, he’s not getting another one of those plates," she said as she reached into the cupboard & took out a wooden bowl.
"He spent the whole afternoon carving out a boat for Saleem, instead of trying to do something to help around here, so if he likes wood so much, he can eat from this." & she threw it down on the kitchen table.
Ahmed looked at his wife. He saw in her, that day, a side he hadn’t seen before & wasn’t so sure he liked it. He looked at the wooden bowl & then at his wife and walked out of the kitchen carrying the dustpan & a damp cloth. Ranya served another lot of food onto the wooden bowl & put it in front of Grandpa.
"Yes, yes, I do believe that’s better. I’m a bit clumsy sometimes," said the old man, half to himself & half out loud.
Saleem looked at the wooden bowl & started to eat his dinner but tears were forming in his eyes. He wasn’t quite sure why he felt like that but he felt really sorry for Grandpa & knew he didn’t mean to drop the plate.
The next day Saleem went into the garage & started working on another piece of wood. He was in there all day while Grandpa rested in bed. He wasn’t feeling very well. Ahmed had a day off and had just finished weeding the flowerbeds & wanted to return the tools to the garage when he noticed Saleem working away.
"What are you doing son?" asked Ahmed in his kindly voice.
"I’m making something."
"What is it?" asked Ahmed, coming a little closer.
"Well, it’s something for you."
"Really? I’d like to see it."
"Ok, I’ve just about finished. You can come and look."
Ahmed approached Saleem’s work place & saw a rather large wooden bowl. He’d made it quite well & it was smooth and even.
"Good work son," commented Ahmed.
"But do you think I need such a thing."
"No, maybe not now. But I thought I’d keep it for you until you get old like Grandpa."
"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attains old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour." (Sura Al Isra’ 17:23)

What does my dream mean?
Basically, I dreamed i was in my old guidence counselors office, picking out a new kitten. When i saw the one i wanted, which looked eactly like the one i had just lost, it seemed to be quite a ways away. So, I began to walk down to the kitten, on a rug that was just like the one in my dining room. To the sides of the rug, was a desert, but not bright and filled with light, more dark and very dusty. And then, right before i got to the cat, a huge crab with no shell jumped in front of me, it was likke the size of a car. (Since i was little ive always been terribly afraid of hermit crabs without shells because if youve ever seen a hermit crab without a shell, you’d understand. Its gross.) And the crab tried to eat me, but before it could my favorite aunt jumped in front of me and the crab ate her. But the wierd thing is, it switched bodies with her. Then my aunt, who is the crab, ate me, and i was the crab. Somehow, and i have no idea how, my aunt and i killed the crab and i was bakc in my body, and she was gone. So then i’m running to this perfect little kitten, when behind me appears a snake, scorpion, and a spider, (they were all very large as well, about as big as a medium sized dog.) Those were my other fears as well. And they chased me up the side of a cliff. So im like a foot away from falling off a cliff, clinging to the tree, and i convince the spider, scorpion, and snake to be friends and the hold hands and walk off in the sunset. End of dream. i dont get the cat.
and im honestly not kidding about this, i know its seems outlandish, but its true. The cat that i had lost was very close to me, and it was a very traumatic experience to watch her be killed in front of me. So there was definately a lot of pain and anxiety in that.
And, my dreams almost always end. Its very rare for them not too. I dont know why, but they just always end.
So, what do you guys think of this? i know its long but i really want to know.
HELP?
How do I get my dog to stop peeing on the carpet?
My dog is about 3 years old and everynight he pee’s in the spare bedroom on the carpet. I have tried everything. Sometimes he poops there too. Every Morning I wake up to find either pee on the carpet or poop and pee on the carpet. I have tried spraying some stuff I bought from the pet supply store that claims your dog won’t pee in the spot you spray it in. I have steam cleaned the carpet to remove the old scent. That didn’t work. I’ve tried keeping the door to bedroom closed at night so he won’t go in there but instead he’ll pee in the corner of my dining room. so now I have two area’s of the house where he will go and pee. I’ve tried not giving him water before bed time and I make sure I walk him and he pee’s outside before we go to bed. Nothing is working. I’m just desperate to get him to stop. Please help!

How do I decorate my main floor powder room so it is not boring?
I just moved into a townhome and I have a very small powder room on the main floor. White walls, ceiling, white woodwork, white toilet, white pedestal sink, and a large oval mirror framed in silver over the sink. There is no window so I don’t want it to be super dark. The floor is pretty–large squares of porcelain tile in deep green & black–sort of swirled like slate. What can I do to make this room pop? I am willing to paint–can’t change the sink or mirror. Any ideas for a picture or wall hanging? My style is tradtional and the living room/dining room are pale gray with a large floral area rug with a navy background. Any help would be appreciated–everyone has such good ideas.
What colors will go well with an Olive green couch?
I have an Olive green Faux Suede couch. I am trying to find a colors for the walls and for an area rug. The living room merges with the dining room which has an Ivory and Cranberrry red scheme. I need colors that will flow from the living room to the dining room thank you.
Do you think painting the long wall in my living room will look okay?
I have a rowhouse so my living room/dining room is a big rectangle and there are large windows on the short ends of the rectangle. As you walk into the room, you face a long wall with my sofa. There are no windows, etc.–just a long expanse of wall. Everything is painted an off white "pearl" color, white woodwork, and medium brown wood floors with a patterned area rug in dark blue, gold, cream, and green. I was thinking of painting the sofa wall taupe, tan, golden tan–Do you think it will open up the room or will it make it look like a tunnel? The couch is a medium brown microsuede called "peat". A lot of my artwork has white backgrounds and they are just lost on the off white walls. Please give me your opinions!
How much would it cost to get a professional to install hardwood floors/carpet?
Say that I moved all of the furniture out of the two rooms I wanted the floor installed in.
About how much would it be to install hardwood floors in a small dining room and new carpet in a small family room? Do not include labor.
Would it be less if we bought the hard wood flooring and carpet instead of them bringing their own?
Thanks in advance. ![]()
What do you suggest? Should I buy a new dining room set/paint my apartment/change carpet? I am on a budget.?
I can only do one out of three. I live in a 2 bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bathroom, spacious living room/office, dining room and kitchen condo. My old dining room set now only has 3 chairs. but it previously had 4 chairs when i bought it. i don’t entertain that much b/c i am tight on budget. but i don’t really have time to sit down and eat anyway. i feel bad when others come over that they often sit on my couch to eat. the fellowship of eating together is not there. or should i paint my condo? i’ven’t painted it since 2001. it is white. it is not that bad, but i guess it is a bit shabby. also, i used to entertain a lot like at least once or twice a week. people spilled so many things on the beige carpet that it looks very bad. but in some places it’s okay.
when i said dining room set, i meant it with minimum of 4 to 8 chairs, a table, a buffet/china cabinet.
How to stop rug from folding up on carpet?
We just moved into an apartment and the dining room was carpeted so we bought a room sized rug to put under the table to keep the carpet clean, etc. Well, its constantly folding up and bending in parts and its driving me insane!!!!!!
How can I make this not happen? I know there are rug mats, but aren’t those only for tile/wood floors? I need ideas on what to use, and like I said, we’re in an apartment so it has to be something that wont damage the carpet. Thanks!
Its not so much the edges that are folding/rolling up but the center part of it…like it gets bumps…………
Corners of area rugs curl upward…how can I permanently "train" them down?
I have five identical area rugs around my living room and dining room. They have a kind of rubberized backing. The corners on most of the rugs curl upward. How can I permanently "train" them down? Thanks so much
A Christmas Joy Savers story. the sequel to my last story. its copy right. just like my other.?
Christmas Dinner Savers
The Sequel to Christmas Savers
Christmas came and went and the man stood outside the little boys house on new years eve. his wife was holding his hand. she leaned over and whispered "go on. he is expecting you." the man reached out to knock on the door, but before he could touch the door, it swung open revealing an ecstatic little boy dressed in worn jeans and a sweater with fireworks on it. "HI!" he said excitedly! "You came! you must be his girlfriend." the little boy said grabbing their hands and tugging them inside. the mans wife giggled "his wife." "oh, your pretty." the mans wife smiled and hugged the little boy "thank you. you are pretty cute yourself." the little boy snickered and ran into the next room shouting "momma! their here!" "oh, hello! i am so glad you came! he has been waiting by that door all day long waiting for you." the lady said gesturing toward the boy as she appeared from the room. "come into the dining room." she turned and went back into the room.
the mans wife gasped quietly hiding her face. the dining room consist of a folding table with thirteen folding chairs surrounding it. on the table was a table cloth (blanket was improvised), a bowl of beans with bacon, another of corn, and a plate of sugar cookies. only enough for two tiny proportions.
Nine little boys and girls filed into the room smiling grimly. "hello." they each said as they passed the couple. they nodded their heads silently in turn. they each took a chair and took turns scooping up a spoonful of beans or corn. the mother leaned over the children and cut the two cookies into thirteen pieces. "i am sorry that its not more, but i work four jobs and this is all we can afford after paying for the bills and rent." the man spoke suddenly "mam," the lady looked at him. "i would like to treat your family to a new years dinner." the children gasped and the mother put a hand to her heart. "why, i cant except that! not with ten children to buy for. no, no, no, i could not let you do that!" the man wrapped his arm around the lady. "fine, ill make you let me." the lady smiled up at him and his wife clasped her hands together. "lets get going then. do you kids have any good jackets?" the children shook their heads. "okay, do you have any long sleeved shirts or pants?" again the children shook their heads. "well, we will just have to change that." said the man. the lady wrapped her long scrawny arms around the man then scurried over to his wife. The man gathered the children and they all rushed out the door.
They reached the clothing store and all of the children hurried into the store excitedly. The man said to his wife “take the girls. Let them get as many clothes as they please. Tell their mother to go and pick out some clothing for herself.” They split and the man shopped with the boys as the wife shopped with the girls. The mother shopped for herself.
Two hours later they had eleven cart filled with clothes; shoes, underwear, jackets, shirts, sweaters, pants, shorts, swimwear, and socks. The man looked at the children. “now, anybody want toys, music, pillows, or anything else in this store?” the children cheered and took off with new carts. The man spoke with the manager who had employees watch the other cart while the children shopped even more.
When they returned three hours later they each had a cart full of toys. The mother had new blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, soap, shampoo, deodorant, rugs, pots, pans, silverware, plates, bowls, paper towels, and napkins overflowing in three carts. In a separate cart she had the things she wanted instead of toys. Books, music players, CDs, a watch, and jewelry. As well as the cell phone, house phone, and laptop that the mans wife insisted on. The man had agreed to pay the phone bills.
The manager had employees check them out on one register. The man whispered into his ear and the manager smiled and typed a number into the register. He motioned over another employee who nodded and dashed to the back off the store. When it was all checked out the manager looked the man straight in the eye. “Sir, for your generosity toward this family I have decided to give you seventy-five percent off of your total. As well as a five hundred thousand dollar gift certificate to this lady.” He said gesturing toward the mother. She gasped and broke into tears.
Employees were pushing the carts out to the moving trucks they had called as the man who had run to the back of the store cam running toward the register with three carts full of two new TVs, game systems, and hundreds of games for the game systems.
The children screamed and ran to the man spending all of this money on them.
“Now how about we go eat and then go back to your house to look at what you got.” The children screamed in agreement. The man looked at the mother. “Mam, when you get home you will find a new van.”
The lady smiled at the man and his wife. “You have given me and my children a new start. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
The day after Christmas the man and his wife had to move out of there large home to live in a motel. The money that they had spent on the family was the money for their rent.
Give, and you will receive.
Read the next story to figure out what I mean by that.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Kennel can't contain my dog? e.e (Repost – More information provided.)?
I have a one and a half year old American Pit Bull Terrier, she is about 60lbs and stronger than all Hell. I work from home but when i go to the store or just out in general, she is kenneled. Of course, this doesn’t stop her from destroying my house, as she is able to move her kennell across the living room and in to the kitchen, dining room, lounge room, etcetera… Pretty much where ever her heart desires. She will some how manage to pull the rug up from the floor, or pull multiple items in to her kennel to chew on. I have tried putting heavy objects on top of her kennel so she couldn’t move it, that failed. Any suggestions on how to get her to stay in one place so she can’t destroy my home while i’m away?
BTW, i am usually only gone two hours at the absolute maximum. She also gets a two mile run once a day while i am on my bike, then a long walk in the evening. So, she isn’t lacking stimulation.
I have tried a plastic kennel, but she would chew on the plastic to the point of where she would shatter her teeth and cause her gums to bleed.. The veterinarian recommended i don’t use a plastic kennel anymore, and after a 0.00 vet bill, i had to agree.
Also, she is a VERY well behaved dog, except when she is in the kennel.. She never chews anything, or rips up the rug when i am home.. I assume she has separation anxiety.
She is in an advanced obedience class once a week, along with me hiding treats around the house twice a day so she can search for them or i lock the treat in a jar or other object so she can figure out how to get it out.. I also teach her, or attempt to teach her a new trick once every five days or so.. Mental stimulation isn’t the issue either.
I was considering letting her have the run of the house, to see if it’s just the confinement that has her ‘acting out’, but if she has separation anxiety, i am afraid this plan would back fire.. Do you think this is a good idea?
