Looking for info on rugs safavieh, home dynamix rugs, oriental area rug, gabbeh persian rugs and more?

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of mites from carpet and furniture? I don’t know what kind of mites they are, but I’ve noticed bites from them on both me and my caged pet rat (we just moved into a new place about a month ago). I bought a bunch of sprays and such, but I was wondering if anyone had anythnig that specifically worked for them? Thanks!

I have a step dad who really doesn’t care about anyone or anything my mom married him when i was 6 months old she hates him now before they got married he lied to her and was a phony about everything
i have 4 older brothers but are now older and grown up i am turning 14 this month we had a family emergency with my grandmother and he was the only one here and i went with my mother one of my brothers picked me up from there and dropped me off at home and when i got home the house was a horrible mess there was poop all over the house from the animals our rabbits had no water for a long time the furniture was in a pile up at the tv there was stains all over the house i was gone a month and nobody had vacuumed since all of the other animals had no food when i got home i cleaned and cleaned and cleaned he never even said thank you for anything when i got home he never said anything to me and i never even saw him for a month and i got home he was eating a peaic of steak with his bare hands he wont let anyone turn the heat up passed 60 and i am freezing at night and day plus im sick my mom cry s every day thinking about it but she cant come home i cleaned there bathroom and my step dad had poop all over the toilet i cleaned IT he never said anything to me about it i scrubbed all the rugs i have done so much and he hasn’t said a word to me and while i am cleaning right after he turns it right back into a mess again i move the furniture back and he puts it back up to the tv everyday he comes home eats makes a mess in the house and then lays on his back and watches tv any time he gets food he will hide it like last night i came in the kitchen and every light was out i couldn’t even see my hand in front of my face i turn a light on hes on the couch eating ice cream he does that all the time i know what your all thinking why doesn’t his mom leave him well she cant we have no money at all only he does and he doesn’t even make enough to pay the bills or anything we just have a nice land lord but hes getting sick of us being short on rent so we might be getting kicked out please is there something we can do is this really abuse please help us

and also she is not affraid of him at all he is more scared of her plus the A i want you to shut up my mom is the best mother anyone can have and if everyone of you think that we arnt able to eat we are able to and we buy stuff to its just that when he buys stuff he hides it and i get child support every month so we get a little bit but not enough to live on

I just bought a corner victorian home in DC that has a 4 story turret. It is beautiful but I am having a hard time laying out my present furniture in the area where the turrets are. I have square rugs and I am not sure I will be able to make it work. Any suggestions? By the way the turreted areas are pretty large

ok last night me my mom n my dad was painting the house and my dad told my to move the furniture and turn the rug up so i moved t he furniture and then i push the rug up with my foot them my dad cam runnin to me and put his hands around my neck and started shaking me so i hit him in his face and his glasses fell off and then he punch me and threw me on the couch my mom did nothing just stood there and watched me get hit then i yelled at my dad that he was gonna stop hitting me this isn’t the first that it has happen and then he said i can get out of his house find someplace better.so i already have my clothes pack and my boyfreinds mom said if i want i could live with them i just need to kno is it child abuse and should i leave

My Hoover broke, so I went to Kohl’s and got a really nice deal on a Rug Doctor Mighty Pro. Nice machine, except it’s heavy, and it only extracted 25% or LESS of the water out of the mattresses and couch cushions. SO, I reasearch all nite. There’s a really nice Bissell on sale at Kohl’s too, but many reviews said that when you do furniture, it doens’t extract much water. So, today I go to Kohl’s, and take back the Rug Doctor. I bought a Hoover Max extract. It extracts about 80% of the water, has a few annoying things like any carpet cleaner, but they’re now putting on stiff, short, grey HARD plastic hoses that want to curl up. Also it’s hard to work on the bottom edges of the chairs near the floor, because the hose is so stiff, it gets under the upholstery tool and your hand and blocks you from running the tool down at the very bottom bottom near the floor.

Anyone got any other ideas? I’m not familiar with the Dyson at all. I wouldn’t touch a Shark, and don’t like Oreck anything.

we have 2 cats. we adopted them from a shelter 3 years ago. they get along well, but we can’t break them from scratching different surfaces.

the male: scratches couch arms, under doorways, and sheer curtains
the female: scratches rugs/carpets and window sills in an attempt to pull herself into the window

we have expecting our first baby and don’t want the cats wrecking the nursery by clawing the glider, decorative rug, curtains, and window sills. we have tried consistently for 3 yrs to use:

- citrus-scented spray on the furniture made to detract cats
- reprimands
- pet gates (they jump over them)
- trimming their nails

we don’t want to have to leave the door closed, because i want to be able to hear if the baby is crying (without always lugging the monitor around). also, if my hands are full with the baby, a cat will easily be able to squeeze in while i open the door and enter. if there is a gate and i’m carrying the baby, i’ll have to juggle baby while trying to undo the gate one-handed.

i don’t want to send our cats back to the shelter. any suggestions?
our contract from the shelter stipulates that we won’t declaw the cats because it is inhumane. i also researched it. it’s expensive (00+ per cat) and requires multiple anti-infection treatments every day for a month.
we tried dbl-sided tape on the kitchen counters and spray bottles. neither worked. the tape didn’t both the male enough to get off the counter and neither did the bottles. the female was easier to correct, but the male is very big and stubborn.

I need some help. I love the beach and i want my room to show it. So… I have things like shells, furniture, and rugs. But, i need some ideas for colors (yellow like the sun or blue like the ocean?), and other little nic nacs. If you have ideas, please let me know if you got them from a website or where I can buy them! Thanks SO MUCH!

i am buying a condo and cannot afford to replace the carpet right now. it is sea foam green. what color will look nice with it for furniture as well as a nice paint for the walls?

We just bought a house and it needs to be painted, and it needs new carpet. We have bright red furniture, and I don’t know what color carpet and paint to get. I was thinking a caramel color, but I don’t want the carpet and walls to be the same color. I have no idea what to do.

I bought a mobile home that had "new carpet installed" well the carpet is new, but it wasn’t installed. They just laid it down after fitting it.

Now that I’ve moved some of my furniture around, it’s causing the carpet to pull up. I’ve laid tiles before, but not carpet. What do I do to get it installed properly?

I just got a used sofa from someone.Was trying to clean it up.Ended up making it look more messy.I bought this and later i came to know that the owner had pets, as lot of hair was coming out.Used a lint roller was able to remove lot of hair.There were very light stains so i got a stain remover, followed the instructions on it, but it did not clear the stain instead it left its own stain.The furniture is from Rowe’s. It is marked both w and s on sofa.On chair it is marked w.How is steam cleaning done.Do i really need it.The sofa is light colored. I saw rug doctor machines in genardis , should i rent them or should i buy a new vaccum cleaner.Which vaccum cleaner would be best and economical, keeping in mind that i dont have pets, but the owners of the set from whom i bought it had them(around 100$).thanks

I don’t have a lot of furniture. I want to make a little look like a lot. Will adding a rug make it look more put together? the pieces don’t match. I also have a ton of baby toys all over the place. I think I have figured out where to put them but I’m still working on everything else. Where should I store my papers? Where can I get cheap decorations? I have picture frames ect. But the wall is huge and they look dumb all alone even though they are 8×10 or 10×13 in size. I can’t paint the walls but I have some artwork of my own. Do I have to frame it? They are fairly big and it would cost me a ton so I don’t want to but I don’t want them to look like crap either so I haven’t done anything. We moved 4 months ago but it looks like we just moved in last week! I need help getting this place together. Any ideas? Thanks. Black is my fiance and my favorite color but we don’t like goth stuff.
