Looking for info on rugs safavieh, home dynamix rugs, oriental area rug, gabbeh persian rugs and more?

I just bought my first home and am moving in next week. I have a burnt orange sofa that I love and the home has light gray carpet. I have looked at many paint chips and have no idea what color would look best on the walls. Does anyone have a suggestion?
I should also add that the couch is burnt orange but is more toward red than orange.

I have allot of confusing dreams, last night i had this one, anyone wanna explain it?

I was walking up a wide path, it was like one into an army base or a scouts camp, it had stones and wood chippings one it, I was walking up it with the man. There were wooden little modern looking shacks going up the path he was carrying a gun and I was like SHIT MAN, but he didn’t shoot me, I was aware he was going to shoot everyone in the building (which was the wooden shacks they were mostly connected) and they were all hiding from him. I went a different way from him, and when I got into the building people were dead because he had killed them already, even though as far as I was aware he had gone a different way from me and was still on the path. I went into a room, I was very calm in all this, in this room there were 4 other people I’d never met before, I don’t even know who the hell they were, anyway, I don’t know how we knew but we new he would come in the room any second so we started hiding, I hid in a corner between a wall and a side board, under a pile of purple, blue and white cushions, sofa ones. He came in and shot some people two I think, I don’t remember hearing the gun shots but I knew he did. I can’t remember how, I’m forgetting it already. Anyway, he went door wide open still (this room by the way was like a small studio room, it had a couple of sofas and behind them was a kitchen like arrangement, the door into the room came from outside which was on the left wall and the door the man came through was one leading into a corridor, so we all went out this door, I went in a separate direction to the other people. I walked along the corridor and there was another room, and that room had a big screen door leading to outside too. Outside the door there was a lady sitting at a patio table sort of thing. She was nothing special but seemed un-aware, I asked her if she knew about what was happening she said yes but she was so calm I felt safe like the man wouldn’t come to this part. So I went back in the room and it was a nice room, there was a vintage looking yellowy rug on the floor and brown and blue wallpaper, there was lots of wooden furniture and an old stereo it was an old room but so bright and colourful It was a really nice room, I guessed it was hers. One the floor sitting on the rug were two cats, one was a tabby brown and black, the other stripy, white ginger and brown and so fluffy. I picked him up and carried him outside before sitting down and the table with the lady and hugging and stroking the cat. It was such a nice cat. I was talking to the lady, I can’t remember what about but it was just a casual conversation. I stood up, and handed her the cat, I thought it was her cat and it was, but then it grabbed onto her arm digging its claws into her skin. She was trying to pull it off but it just kept clawing her and wouldn’t let go, it looked so painful, she had on a crinkly material shirt that was white and baby blue, and some dark denim jeans and was wearing lots of hippy looking necklaces, she looked a bit trampy and had scraggly dark brown hair, she wasn‘t wearing any make up and was quite skinny, she had a really thin face, pale and old looking, and the cat started getting caught in her necklaces and blood started coming through on her shirt from her arm where the cat had hold of her, she was still so calm trying to pull the cat off, ‘little fucker she is’ she said, ‘these cats are such little bastards’. Then as she was still trying to pull the cat off, my brother woke me up.

I thought about this for quite a while you see and the thoughts I had seemed quite enough for a two thousand word story. Except now, constrained, by the speed of a slow hand I fear I will not capture it, and that it is gone. Almost certainly, as I realise a beginning that a story needs, there is no way for me to do so without drawing upon a slew of worn out rugs threaded with cliches. And even if I could write something original enough, it was written already and kept better by the aged past, and so I’m here, nowhere but in pain and deliberately still at my desk, on a chair with four legs, except one leg is a little broken but not enough to break and it feels like looking at a mirror, wishing to set fire to the Louvre.

There comes a time when the pen slows and I fear I will become bored and the boredom is the worse you see, because then, everything is useless and comes into this dark growing hole and I retreat to the sofa and swallow the feedback, because when you are bored you cannot say no. You cannot say no, a weak animal wishes death, it only cares that there’s no pain. And every day is like this, medicated men and women who never never have any pain, but live every day in horrible suffering. Unfelt, unknown, unaccounted for. Angels, that onlt emerge with cancer or a sudden loss of a loved and then, the whole world knows it.

People are not good to each other, and often you might feel like there’s no reason to even get of the bed in the morning. Perhaps you have to feed the cat, but then there’s another distraction. By then you’re not sleepy anymore, and you feel this strange desire to rebel (it’s very deep behind the eyes), and I know nothing of its roots, only that its as pure as any necessary illusion. You say, hey, it’s OK, because even if and when and now I am left with nothing, I still have the cheeks to feel the rain and a smile to smile back to the moon and a heart to love my friends and family. And you go on, and the winters becomes summers, and days drag on like tired dogs (only there’s no relief for them, for they see the world as what it is, nothing but a bunch of atoms, and that love is a specific chemical reaction replicated on a smaller scale with a bite of a chocolate, which unluckily for them is poisonous)

We live in a world of misdirection, we live in a world where small truths are many and they are inseparable from the lies. We have fused the roles of the household, nothing is certain anymore, when a man and a woman have been de-sexed and joy had been neutered for a weekend inside with the family watching American Gladiators. We are not told what to think except we are, and we don’t even realise it, and I wonder, where has our judgment gone?

Was it ever there? Had it all evaporated in the confusion. Have we become so neutral as to not be able to look at something that produces no emotional response, no connection with the tangible real, and say Oh, I see. It’s a piece of shit, folks. Sometimes we need the vulgarity to fight the banality.

So when you realise it, please, walk away. Because you can, and I on the other hand, am forced here by some invisible hand that scolds me every day, and yet it encourages me ever so often that I keep doing this thing they call writing but what I really do is die about ten times and open the windows to let some air in on the others.

I do not want to buy an expensive machine, and I don’t really want to cover my sofa in old sheets.

We have all microfiber living room furniture that we bought about 9 months ago. I have never cleaned it and I think that our sofa and love seat need to be spot cleaned in a few small areas. What would be safe to use on microfiber? We have a Rug Doctor with all of the upholstery attachments, but I don’t dare use it on the microfiber since I heard that it can leave water marks. Any advice?

I just got a used sofa from someone.Was trying to clean it up.Ended up making it look more messy.I bought this and later i came to know that the owner had pets, as lot of hair was coming out.Used a lint roller was able to remove lot of hair.There were very light stains so i got a stain remover, followed the instructions on it, but it did not clear the stain instead it left its own stain.The furniture is from Rowe’s. It is marked both w and s on sofa.On chair it is marked w.How is steam cleaning done.Do i really need it.The sofa is light colored. I saw rug doctor machines in genardis , should i rent them or should i buy a new vaccum cleaner.Which vaccum cleaner would be best and economical, keeping in mind that i dont have pets, but the owners of the set from whom i bought it had them(around 100$).thanks

my plan is to buy black slipcovers for my sofa and love seat. but i dont know what to do about the walls and furniture and accessories. would black or white tables do? what about rugs. please help!!!

I bought my bunny from pets at home 2 weeks ago. she was 8 weeks so she is 10 weeks old now. she is a dutch cross with an english and was in a cage with about 4 other female bunnys.
ive heard that bunnys live a much happier life with a companion and so was considering getting another bunny next week. however i cant afford another cage and also have no-where to put it, so i was wondering if i could just put a new bunny in flopseys cage.
do you think shees been alone long enough to consider herself on her own or her cage as her territory, and can i just put another bunny with her
another option would be for me to throughly clean out flopseys cage and get rid of her scent, and put the new bunny in that- as they have to be left alone for 28 hours before you handle them, and use flopseys pen to keep her in, (as sheees very confident in the house and has learned to escape from her cage overnight if we dont wrap hairbands around the bars of the cage door, she spends most nights on the sofa or on our rug and is only in her cage to get hay or water which we can provide in her pen) and then slowly introduce them in our kitchen (neutral area) and allow them to bond.
if i use his method- should i wash out the cage again before putting both bunnys back inside the cage, and leave both of their poo and pee in the litter tray???????????
the reason im rushing into this is because the pets at home people said it would be much better to bond her now than when sheees older
one more thing- the new bunny would also be a girl because Flopseys not old enough to be spayed and i dont want to end up with loads of baby bunnies,but i plan on gettin them both spayed when theyre ready =S

ive decided to wait and get her spayed first and then mabe a while after that see how she is, and then look into rescuing a bunny, probably a boy cos ive heard they get along much better with girls, and so i can take flopsey with me so she can be introduced properly, and there can be another cage too. THANKS for the help =)

I am wondering if this will be the right rug to go with when it comes to color aesthetics or should I go with something in light skyblue shade instead of light creamish brown base of Cyrille rug.

I have rust pillows on the chairs. I will get pillows w/ blue designs for the sofa and possibly a throw in as well.

My female cat who is approximately one year old has been peeing on what seems like everything. She peed on an old sofa that we had not too long ago, so we got rid of the entire sofa because it smelled so awful. We then bought a new sofa that is a suede material. Not long after getting this sofa I found that she peed all over both seats on it. This has become very frustrating and embarrassing when I have company over. I tried MANY different kinds of little pet sprays that they sell at any pet store, but no luck. I also rented a rug shampooer with a hose attachment and got solution to use for the sofa for pet odors, after shampooing twice, nothing has happened. THEN i decided to use nature’s miracle spray and nothing happened, still smells bad. I feel like the odor is everywhere and I keep finding new places. I’ve taken her to the vet and got her checked for a urinary tract infection, and it wasn’t that, just a simple behavior problem. Please, someone help!

Keep in mind my apartment is very bear right now. Beige carpeting and cream walls. So for now I’m working with a leather mint green sofa and chair from Create & Barrel (very streamlined in built), deep brown wood coffee table and end tables. That all I have for now, I want to get an area rug curtains. Need some direction with colors. I can send photos of what I have so far.. I’m trying to rebuild after an apartment fire so I’m a bit over whelmed…

I have a rowhouse so my living room/dining room is a big rectangle and there are large windows on the short ends of the rectangle. As you walk into the room, you face a long wall with my sofa. There are no windows, etc.–just a long expanse of wall. Everything is painted an off white "pearl" color, white woodwork, and medium brown wood floors with a patterned area rug in dark blue, gold, cream, and green. I was thinking of painting the sofa wall taupe, tan, golden tan–Do you think it will open up the room or will it make it look like a tunnel? The couch is a medium brown microsuede called "peat". A lot of my artwork has white backgrounds and they are just lost on the off white walls. Please give me your opinions!

I tried to match the red but it was too much red in the room. Needing to recover sofa with slipcover and want to choose the best color.

Spraying water at him and one brand of anti-cat furniture spray doesn’t seem to work. One area rug and a sofa wrecked so far.
